Matt Done has set his sights on helping Sheffield United win promotion, writes James Shield, after describing his move to Bramall Lane as “a dream come true.”

The striker joined Nigel Clough’s side for an undisclosed sum ahead of today’s clash with Gillingham after scoring 14 goals in 30 outings for Rochdale this term.

Done told The Star: “This is the first time in my career I can say I’m at a club of this stature. Sheffield United is a Premier League club in League One, it’s a simple as that.

“The first time I played here was this season with Rochdale. I came away, and the lads there will tell you this, saying it was the best ground I’ve ever appeared at and I’ve been to some good ones, including in the top-flight, before.

“But Bramall Lane was an amazing experience and that was as an opposition player. To be here now, with 20,000 people on my side rather than against, will be something else.

“It’s a dream come true.”

Done will make his United debut at Priestfield if he overcomes a slight ankle problem.

“It was a hard decision to leave Rochdale because I sincerely wish them all the best,” Done, previously of Barnsley and Hibernian, added. “But it was an easy one to come here.”
