A PENALTY handed Sheffield United a narrow home win tonight.

They beat Walsall 1-0 at Bramall Lane.

Dave Kitson had started up front for Sheffield United despite recent illness.

He was in a move that led to the opening goal.

Nick Blackman stuck a penalty away after a foul on Kitson which led to Dean Holden being red carded.

The Midlands side may have been down to 10-men, but they persevered,

George Long had to save a shot from Will Grigg and, genrally, looked commanding.

But generally, United had more possession and deserved the win.
