IT’S part two of the Steel City derby tonight for the talented youngsters at Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

Middlewood Road played host to the first instalment on Saturday as the Owls hosted the Blades at under 18 Academy level.

This evening it’s the turn of the development squads of both clubs. Teams are made up primarily of players under the age of 21 except for three over age players and a goalkeeper.

The match is being played at Hillsborough (7pm) as part of an initiative to give experience of performing on a bigger stage than the usual venue of a training ground.

As part of league rules four matches this season will each be played at Hillsborough and Bramall Lane.

There should be no shortage of the players being fired up with their respective coaches being synonymous with their whole-hearted approach to the game. United are managed by Chris Morgan while Wednesday’s development boss is Lee Bullen.

On Saturday the Owls under 18s won for the fifth consecutive match.

Trailing at half time to goals by Jahmal Smith and Diego De Girolamo, Wednesday were quickly on level terms through Simon Hannah and Elias Moses.

United edged ahead with an Ottis Khan strike before Nick Hague equalised.

Five minutes from time Wednesday snatched the winner through the in form Charlie Dawes.

Tickets tonight cost £2.
