United are cutting season ticket prices for existing holders next term.
Despite initially pledging to freeze prices for the next two years, the League One club today unveiled reductions of £20 for adults and £10 senior citizens as part of their ‘United Future’ initiative.
Chief executive Julian Winter said: “To be able to enjoy the level of backing we have this season has been an immense help in guiding the team to the upper reaches of the table.
“We want to acknowledge the ongoing support of season ticket holders whilst continuing to encourage the growth in attendance of families with young children.”
Holders will qualify for the discounts providing they renew before May 5. New applicants, together with returning fans and members, will be afforded the opportunity to purchase under separate ‘early bird’ price schemes.
Those renewing online also benefit from the removal of booking fees.
Other changes include expanding young adult eligibility (now 16-21), a reduction in young adult and student prices to £140 and also the under-16 tariff (£30 Kop and £40 John Street and South Stand).
Manager Danny Wilson said: “The fans’ support, particularly in a recession, is much appreciated.”
