Sheffield United have appointed Dave Morrison as their new fitness coach to replace Dean Riddle.
Blades boss Danny Wilson worked with the 36-year-old at Swindon Town. Morrison had spells at Peterborough and Leyton Orient as a footballer before qualifying in sports science. He told the Blades website: “Footballers are athletes and need athletic qualities - that’s where I can help. Football is just recognising the role of a fitness coach and my job is to get the players into the best possible condition for the manager and other coaches to do their jobs.”
Morrison joins Frank Barlow and Chris Morgan as new faces on Wilson’s staff. A new chief scout will be appointed soon.
