Neutral punters may be tempted by a draw at Charlton

Charlton dented Sheffield Wednesday’s promotion hopes at Hillsborough, where they grabbed the only goal and the Addicks are hoping to inflict a similar fate on Sheffield United as the pair face off at the Valley.

Chris Powell’s side are BetVictor’s 5/4 favourites to win while the Blades are 5/2 outsiders with Stan James. However, as it’s first against second in South London, it would be no surprise to see neutrals in particular heading for the draw at 12/5 via Ladbrokes.

Similarly, William Hill’s 6/1 for it to finish 1-1 could prove popular and Paddy Power post 13/8 against Danny Wilson’s men in the ‘Draw No Bet’ market, although United’s form at present could encourage Bldes fans to risk their cash a little more positively.

For them, Blue Square rate Sheffield United at 4/1 to win by one goal, it’s 10/1 courtesy of bet365 for the Blades to shade it 1-0 and, as a tight contest seems inevitable, a case can also be made for an away win following a level first half, an outcome available with Betfred at odds of 13/2.

Sheffield Wednesday are eight points adrift of the League One leaders so it’s vital the Owls get back to winning ways as they entertain Hartlepool.

Boylesports install Gary Megson’s charges as 4/7 favourites, Paddy Power offer 17/10 for Wednesday to be victorious by at least two goals and William Hill quote odds of 13/2 for the Owls to notch twice without reply. Alternatively, with the hosts expected to dominate, Partybets post 6/5 against Wednesday holding a lead at the end of each half.
