PRESTON NORTH END: Stuckmann, Clarke, Huntington, Wiseman, Humphrey, Reid, Gallagher, Welsh, Laird, Davies, Ebanks-Blake.
SHEFFIELD UNITED: Howard, Alcock, Basham, McGahey, Harris, Doyle, Reed, Baxter, Flynn, Scougall, Higdon.
ONE TO WATCH
Paul Gallagher will enter tomorrow’s FA Cup fourth-round tie searching for his third goal of the competition after scoring both of Preston North End’s goals when they beat Norwich City 2-0 earlier this month. The 30-year-old, who is scheduled to remain at Deepdale on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season, enjoyed a brief spell with Sheffield United during the 2012/13 campaign. Former Scotland manager Berti Vogts awarded Gallagher his Scotland cap in 2004.
Tomorrow’s fourth-round tie at Deepdale marks only the sixth time these two clubs have been paired together in FA Cup competition with Sheffield United winning two of those encounters and Preston North End one. United and North End have faced each other twice in League One this term with Nigel Clough’s side prevailing 2-1 at Bramall Lane a fortnight ago. Marc McNulty, Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Josh Brownhill were all on target.
MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Keith Stroud : Averages 4.62 cautions per game this season. The 45-year-old, from Hampshire, was appointed to the Select Group in 2007 before being demoted two years later. He was subsequently reinstated and took charge of Sheffield United’s League One encounter against Notts County which marked the start of the governing body’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
