Goal hero Marc McNulty is a doubt for Sheffield United’s trip to Crawley this weekend after being taken off at half-time in the 2-1 win at Rochdale.
Blades boss Nigel Clough rated McNulty as a doubt to face Crawley, after the Scottish striker suffered a shin injury early on in the game at Spotland.
McNulty scored the game’s opening goal before being replaced by Matty Done at half-time, with John Brayford’s fortuitous second proving decisive as United strengthened their grip on the League One promotion places.
United now trail second-placed MK Dons by ten points, with a game in hand, and Clough said: “Marc is going to be a doubt, we think at this stage at least, for the weekend.
“There’s a little cut there on his shin but, with the games we’ve got coming-up and with Matty on on the bench, there was no point in risking him.
“It was nice to give Matty a little rest and have him come off the bench.
“That should help him going forward because he’s been playing through a few things.
“And it also shows we have options there.”
