SHEFFIELD United manager Danny Wilson last night revealed the club has yet to receive a bid for any of its key players.

With the South Yorkshire club making an impressive start to the new season, fears have grown that members of its squad could be lured away before next week’s transfer deadline.

But Wilson, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Yeovil Town, said: “There’s nothing pressing at the moment.

“Often it happens at the 11th hour and if it does it does.

“If it doesn’t, then great.

“I’m not going to worry about it though because if people want to show an interest then it’s beyond our control.

“All I want to do is make sure are prepared should that situation arise.”

Wilson confirmed Nick Montgomery sat out training yesterday after missing the midweek Carling Cup defeat at Everton with a stomach bug.

But United are hopeful their captain will take his place in the team which travels to Huish Park.

Striker Daniel Bogdanovic missed last Saturday’s visit to Tranmere Rovers after also being taken ill.

“We’ve had three or four lads come down with this,” confirmed Wilson.”It seems as if it’s the same thing that lasts about 24 hours but we’ve managed to contain it pretty well so far.

“Monty didn’t do any work but we’ll have another look at him fingers crossed he should be able to make the journey with us.”

Terry Skiverton, Wilson’s opposite number, has urged his players to raise their game as they prepare to lock horns with United for the first ever time.

“I think it will be the biggest test for us since we played Southampton at home last year,” he said.

“You are talking about a mega club with Premier League experience and it is up to us now to see if we can match that.

“It is one that all of the players are looking forward to, we have been setting goals for ourselves and it is up to us to see if we can claim a major scalp in the league.

“I think our form so far has been very good at home.

“We are definitely not going to underestimate Sheffield United and I think Stephen Quinn has been the standout player at the start of the season.”
