Sheffield United crashed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a penalty shoot-out defeat to Fleetwood Town at Highbury.

After a goalless 90 minutes Billy Sharp and Jay McEveley missed their spot kicks as United went down 4-1.

Boss Nigel Adkins said: “I wanted to win and I made no bones about that. So, yes, of course I’m disappointed but credit to their goalkeeper because he made some excellent saves.”
