Ben Davies’ stunning strike gave Sheffield United their first win of the season at Peterborough in their League One clash at London Road tonight.
Davies’ screamer, from the edge of the box, gave United a welcome 2-1 victory after a stuttering start to their campaign.
Earlier, Shaun Brinsley’s header cancelled out United’s opener, which came from Jose Baxter’s clinical finish into the bottom corner of Ben Alnwick’s goal.
Chris Basham earlier had a goal ruled out for offside, and Jamie Murphy also went close to breaking the deadlock on a couple of occasions.
United made a handful of changes for the game with Jay McEveley making his full debut for the visitors, with Neill Collins, Michael Doyle and Marc McNulty returning to the starting line-up. Michael Higdon and Louis Reed dropped to the bench.
