CHESTERFIELD’S two new loan signings are expected to be in the squad for today’s home game against Wycombe Wanderers.
Midfielder Chris Atkinson from Huddersfield Town and Sunderland goalkeeper Ben Wilson have been tracked by caretaker boss Tommy Wright for some time.
Atkinson said: “It’s a great opportunity to come here and play some football. It’s a fantastic stadium and when asked about coming there was only one answer.”
On his playing style, he said: “I like to get up and down the pitch, work hard, try and get on the ball and make things happen and keep it simple; maybe pop up with the odd goal now and again.”
Wilson, who will provide cover for Richard O’Donnell said: “Towards the end of last season there was a rumour about it but I finally got a phone call on Wednesday morning to say Chesterfield were interested. It’s a great opportunity to get myself out there and noticed.”
He added: “Everything here looks brilliant so I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
