Former Sheffield United target Dan Burn joins Wigan Athletic

Adkins pursued the signature of the central defender over the course of two transfer windows but was unable to complete the transfer.

Burn left Fulham at the end of last season and it has been confirmed that the 24 year old will move to the DW Stadium when his contract runs out on July 1, on a deal that will keep him at last year's League One champions until 2019.

“He fits our profile exactly, young, hungry and with experience at this level and the desire to progress with us," manager Gary Caldwell said. "He is a powerful defender, but he likes to play as well and adds tremendous competition to the squad.”
