Danny takes no chances with Lowton
MATTHEW Lowton will start tomorrow’s FA Cup third-round tie with Salisbury City only if he is “100 per cent fit” Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson insisted last night.
The defender missed Monday’s visit to Carlisle after suffering an injury during the League One victory over Hartlepool two days earlier .
Wilson said: “It’s 50/50 that Matt will be involved, perhaps even 60/40.
“If he’s fit then he’ll play, it’s as simple as that.
“But we won’t be taking any risks with Matty.
“We’ve got too many important games coming-up to do anything like that.”
United, who are third in the table, return to League One action on Tuesday when they entertain Yeovil Town.
Chris Porter’s first-half header sealed a 1-0 victory for Wilson’s men when they travelled to Huish Park five months ago.
Wilson added: “Our only focus at the moment though is Salisbury.
“It’s a big game for them and they have nothing to lose. But it’s a big game for us too.”
Meanwhile, United have reminded supporters that tickets for the meeting with Darrell Clarke are priced £10 adults, £5 concessions and £3 juniors.
Entry to next week’s visit of Yeovil is priced from £13 for adults and £7 juniors.
United’s box office will stay open until 7pm on Monday.
