Sheffield United have completed their second central defensive signing of the week after confirming Jack O'Connell is joining from Brentford.
The 22 year old former England under 19 international skipper joins James Wilson who moved to Bramall Lane from Oldham earlier this week.
O'Connell joins on a three-year deal with United paying an undisclosed fee.
The move bolsters an area that boss Chris Wilder set out as a priority when he took over as manager following the dismissal of Nigel Adkins and O'Connell becomes United's fourth signing of the summer after Chris Hussey and Mark Duffy's early arrival.
Wilder said of the signing: "I'm delighted that the Board have backed this signing because Jack is an exciting talent. He's young, hungry and has a considerable number of games under his belt at a good level, considering his age. We are delighted to add him to our squad and we are still working on getting one or two more into the building."
