Sheffield United have held off potential suitors by pinning down young ace Che Adams with a new three-year deal.
The 19-year-old has committed his future to the Blades until the end of the 2017/18 campaign with the option for a further year inserted into the deal.
"Che is an emerging talent, he has so much ability," Blades boss Nigel Adkins told the club's official website.
"We are excited to have him at our disposal and his form, attitude and application throughout pre-season and into the league season has been fantastic.
"Like all the players, we must manage him correctly and try to improve him.
"Che works hard and everyday he is learning more about his game and what we want him to contribute to the team.
He is exciting to watch, the fans have taken to him and he certainly adds another dimension to our array of attacking threats."
Adams has enjoyed a superb start to the season, including netting both goals in the 2-0 win over Chesterfield earlier this month and starting every league game so far.
He arrived at Bramall Lane from Ilkeston last November and showed his potential in sporadic appearances over the campaign, including coming off the bench to score twice against Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup.
The Star reported this morning that Adkins was confident Adams would indeed sign a new deal. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/sheff-utd/sheffield-united-big-development-in-adams-chase-1-7426415
