Richard: Here we go again ...
It’s funny because until the Owls decided to forget who they were in recent weeks I really fancied United to win at Hillsborough.
Now, with Wednesday in an abject run of form, I think it’s footballing obvious that Gary Megson’s team will be victorious by 3pm tomorrow.
The atmosphere at Sheffield 6 will concentrate the minds of the Wednesday players to get back to what they do best. Hustling, harrying, perspiration leading to inspiration and being strong at set-pieces. Boring reasons, I know, but derbies are won on such detail.
Expect all the fun of the fair on and off the pitch, with the Owls sneaking through by one goal.
Dom: Everything points to a routine United victory. Danny Wilson’s troops are the form side in the division, boast one of the meanest defences in the league, play a stylish, attractive brand of football and score goals from all angles. Even Neill Collins has got on the scoresheet recently!
They have a plethora of players who can conjure a moment of inspiration out of nothing, from attacking full-back Matthew Lowton to the irrepressible Ched Evans.
When Wilson delivers his final team talk all he has to mention is the last derby to motivate his side. In a controversial encounter, United dominated it for long stages before Wednesday’s late fightback. Wilson’s team have learned much since then and are a different animal now.
