Blades club photographer Martyn Harrison, affectionately as ‘Baldy’ and a well-known face on the sidelines at Bramall Lane, died last year after a short battle with cancer.

Over 200 images have been put together by United’s programme editor Kevin Cookson, along with current club photographer Simon Bellis for a book entitled ‘Baldy’s Blades’, launched today on what would have been Martyn’s 61st birthday.

All proceeds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Care, as requested by Martyn before he died.

“He was diagnosed in August and passed away in December and during that time we talked over a lot of things and one was the book and the fact that he wanted Macmillan to be the charity to benefit,” said Kevin.

Among the highlights are examples of Martyn’s early work from the 1980s,coverage from Neil Warnock’s reign as Blades boss and images from Martyn’s personal collection.

The book, priced at £10, is available at the Blades Superstore and at {http://www.sufcdirect.co.uk/books-stationery/books/3136_Baldys-Blades.html|SUFC Direct|CLICK HERE}
