DONCASTER Senior League Division One sides Denaby United and Shafton Villa both booked their places in the semi-final of the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA Junior Challenge Cup at the weekend.
Denaby despatched Royston with two goals from Jason Astphall, while Shafton Villa hit seven without reply against Hall Green Villa. Tony Bennett led the way with a hat-trick and there were single strikes from Adam Fretwell, Chris Glover, Ben Pearson and Steve Bennett.
Bramley Sunnyside posted a 3-0 win over AFC Sportsman Rovers in their Premier Division clash - Tom Salt, Kyle Egan and Marc Trowill sharing out the goals.
A Sorik Malcolm strike was enough to give Edlington Town the points away at Brodsworth Welfare.
South Elmsall United and Sutton Rovers shared the points in a six goal thriller.
Dave Rogerson bagged a brace for United with Steve Nutter also netting. Simon Roberts, Michael Leightley and Adrian Parker were all on target for Rovers.
Jack Burton and Peter Wharmsley secured a point for Bawtry Town in a 2-2 draw at Carcroft Village, for whom Chris Hancock and Joe Fisher replied.
Third-placed Ackworth United kept the pressure on the top two in Division One with an emphatic 6-0 win away at Dunscroft United. Steve Winder helped himself to four of the goals with Pablo Garcia-Ochoa and James Winder both chipping in.
A brace by Danny Jones and a goal by Danny Porteous gave Scawthorpe & Bentley Rhinos a share of the points in a 3-3 draw at Hemsworth MW.
Bawtry Town Reserves secured their first away win of the season, defeating ISG Doncaster 2-1 thanks to goals by Robert Hollinger and Lee Christer. Adam Sieradzki scored the consolation for ISG.
Askern Athletic had to settle for a consolation goal by Jordan Williams in their 4-1 defeat against South Kirkby Town.
A Taylor hat-trick laid the foundations for Highwayman’s 3-1 victory away at Sun FC (Shane Carver).
