Stocksbridge Park Steels ended their winless run with a 5-1 victory over Dinnington Town in the Senior Cup at Bracken Moor.
Nick Swirad’s point blank header gave Steels a 35th minute lead, which they doubled two minutes into the second half when Alec Denton raced through to find the top corner.
Dinnington pulled one back three minutes later with a cracking 30-yard effort from Jo Jo Louey.
Steels regained their two goal cushion on the hour mark when Andy Ring converted from close range. Janni Lipka made the tie safe on 80 minutes rifling home from 20 yards before Swirad grabbed his second and the hosts’ fifth three minutes from time to put the result beyond doubt.
Holders Frickley Athletic edged through winning 1-0 at Harworth CI where Ollie Fearon’s sixth minute goal proved decisive.
Sheffield FC won 4-0 at Penistone Church where the home side gave a good account of themselves despite the scoreline.
Joel Purkiss headed Club into a third minute lead but it wasn’t until the 45th minute that they increased the advantage when Reece Littlejohn cut inside to score with a good finish.
Richard Stirrup tucked away a cross for the third on 71 minutes with Mark Fereday wrapping up the win a minute later.
Worksop Town scored twice late on after twice coming from behind to win 5-3 against Shelley FC at Sandy Lane. Phil Liversey gave the visitors a 12th minute lead from the penalty spot and although Jack Muldoon levelled, Sam Haigh restored the visitors lead four minutes before the break.
Muldoon with his second and James Cotterill on 66 minutes put the Tigers 3-2 up only for Liversey to convert his second spot kick to make it 3-3. But Phil Roe put Worksop back in front on 80 minutes with Jack Adams sealing the win in the final minute
County Senior League side Handsworth caused an upset after coming from behind to knock out NCEL Premier Division Nostell MW 2-1 away.
The hosts took a 52nd minute lead but Handsworth responded 15 minutes later through Nathan Reid before Jordan Stocks popped up with the winner two minutes from time.
Staveley MW beat Worsbrough Bridge 2-1, while Athersley Recreation went through 6-2 against Millmoor Juniors.
