SATURDAY: Racing is ON

This afternoon’s meeting at Doncaster will go ahead as scheduled after temperatures stayed above freezing overnight on Town Moor.

Clerk of the course Jon Pullin had called a precautionary inspection for 7.45am to guard against the threat of frost, but temperatures only dipped down to 2C.

Pullin said: “Thankfully we only got down to plus 2C overnight, so we have no problems at all.

“We had three-and-a-half millimetres of rain on Friday, so the ground is good to soft, soft in places.

“It’s a superb card this afternoon and I’m delighted we’ve been able to give the meeting the go-ahead at this early stage.”
