Youngsters learn first hand from the Millers men at the top

MANAGER Andy Scott and assistant Darren Patterson provided an extra footballing treat for youngsters attending the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust coaching sessions.

The training sessions, delivered to local youngsters by the Trust’s coaches, are hugely popular anyway, but there was an “upgrade” for the youngsters, aged between five and 14, when Scott and No 2 Patterson stepped in to lead the session.

The club’s community participation officer, James Cole, said: “The youngsters really enjoyed visiting the club’s training ground at Roundwood and they watched a really intense session.

“First-team players chatted to the youngsters and Andy and Darren gave them a real insight as to what it is like to experience a professional training session.”

Participation ambassador and Millers keeper Andy Warrington added: “It was nice to see the youngsters at the training ground.

“I hope they can see how hard we train and can come down to watch some games in 2012.”

The football camp was at Aurora, Brinsworth. The next ones are February half-term at Dearne Valley College, Wickersley School and Aurora.
