We won't give Reid away, warns Robins

ROTHERHAM United insist that Reuben Reid will not be "given away".

The Millers are set to discuss a transfer request from the 20-year-old striker but will demand a six-figure fee for the player who shot to prominence from nowhere last season.

The Millers have already had a 100,000 bid from MK Dons which they turned down.

"Any club that comes in for him will have to match our valuation; we are not going to be giving someone away," said Millers manager Mark Robins.

Robins will discuss Reid's request with chairman Tony Stewart after the offer of an extension to his current contract was not taken up.

Reid has a further year left on his current two-year deal which was signed just before the start of this season when he came to the Millers as a complete unknown.

In fact, he went on as a substitute in the first pre-season friendly against Derby County and wasn't even named on the list of players on the teamsheet.

He finished with 19 goals, one short of becoming the first Millers players since Robins in 2001 to reach the 20-goal mark.

Meanwhile, midfielder Danny Harrison has extended his stay by signing a one-year extension to his contract.

"It was an easy decision really," he said. "We have made some good additions in the summer and the club is really on the up at the moment."

The club have unveiled Hull-based company Sports Identity as the club's new away shirt sponsor.

The Millers have announced an initial two-year association with Sports Identity who will have the name on the new light blue away kit.
