Schofield welcomes return of key Millers duo
ROTHERHAM United have sorely missed Ryan Cresswell and Mark Bradley in recent months.
That is the view of Millers midfield playmaker Danny Schofield as Andy Scott’s inconsistent team prepare to entertain Port Vale this Saturday.
Powerful centre-back Cresswell has not played since mid-September because of an ankle problem while Bradley dislocated his shoulder at the start of October in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie with Sheffield United. Welsh international midfielder Bradley has been an unused substitute in the last two matches.
The pair are back in full training and were set to be given run outs in the reserve-team clash with Bradford City yesterday but the fixture had to be called off due to a frozen pitch.
Schofield told The Star: “It is good to have them back as they have been out for quite a while. They both look sharp in training and are two big players for us.
“Cressy is really influential on the pitch, both physically and as a captain and Brads has got a good passing range.
“Competition for places is imperative in any squad. The more bodies we have the better. People have got to be on their toes and know that if they don’t play well that someone is waiting and ready to take their place in the team.”
