Rotherham United: Millers boss Steve Evans in selection dilemma

editorial image

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans is facing a selection dilemma ahead of the trip to fellow promotion rivals Burton Albion on Saturday.

Last Saturday’s return to winning ways along with the performance would, under normal circumstances, persuade a manager to name the same team.

But Evans has new central defender Claude Davis available again after his one-match ban and the likelihood of midfielder Lee Frecklington shaking off the ankle injury which kept him out of last week.

To bring Davis straight back in would offer Evans the prospect of restoring Kari Arnason into midfield - but at who’s expense? The alternative, if he decided to put Davis straight back in, would be to move skipper Johnny Mullins to right back.

Whichever decision he takes, there is still a decision on Frecklington is he is fit. Until last weekend he had been a regular starter, apart from one game through injury at Exeter, since his first appearance back in October.

Burton are a point ahead but from three games more.
