Rotherham United’s return to League One is marked by an away game at Crewe but it is the second away game that will certainly interest manager Steve Evans.

It takes the Millers to his former club Crawley - the one he left to join Rotherham 15 months ago.

Preston - managed by former Huddersfield and Leeds boss Simon Grayson - will be the first League One visitors to the New York Stadium on August 10.

But it is the home game a few weeks later that Millers fans will have noted the most - Sheffield United the visitors on September 7. The return fixture is March 8.

The Christmas games are both away - at Bradford City on Boxing Day and at Port Vale three days later when there is a full programme on Sunday, December 29.

Ronnie Moore is set to bring his Tranmere Rovers side to the New York Stadium on October 22.

At Easter they go to Molineux to face Wolves and on Easter Monday have Port Vale at home.
