Peace breaks out at Don Valley as Scott issues Paolo plaudits

ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott says there will be no spill-over from the fiery touchline encounters that marked their visit to Swindon when Paolo Di Canio’s side come to Don Valley Stadium today.

“It was the Paolo show that day,” said Scott reflecting on certain histrionics, not all down to Di Canio however. “They’d had a bad start to the season, it was on TV and it was a bit of a circus.

“But that’s all gone, there’s no antagonism at all. Those things happen although I’m a bit disappointed he’s not going to be in the other dug-out.”

The Italian has to serve a one-match touchline ban for running on to the pitch at Northampton to celebrate a late winner.

“He’s someone who is passionate about the game, perhaps a bit over the top, but he wears his heart on his sleeve,” said Scott.

“He is a good coach who has recognised how they play in League Two and has adapted. You take your hat off to him for that.”

Di Canio can be in the dressing room as normal but can’t be on the touchline and will be in the stand.

“I can have a word with my technical staff when I want to change something but I have a good group with good organisation who know what they are doing and will arrive with all the information and all the details,” said Di Canio.

“This one is probably tougher than most. Rotherham have good quality.”
