Millers sign the hat-trick man

ROTHERHAM United have signed a striker who has provided one of the stand-out achievements of the four seasons at the Don Valley Stadium.

Shaun Harrad has joined the Millers on loan from Bury who had bought him from Northampton earlier this season with some of the money they received for Ryan Lowe from Sheffield Wednesday.

But it was during Harrad’s time with Burton Albion that he made his mark at the Don Valley Stadium.

Burton were losing 3-0 at half-time against Rotherham in September 2010 and Harrad scored a second half hat-trick to secure a 3-3 draw.

Millers boss Andy Scott - whose side are at Southend tomorrow night - has acted after being left short on the striker front.

Gareth Evans has been troubled by a back injury, Chris Holroyd went to Preston and Brett Williams went back to Reading - and yesterday went on loan to Northampton.
