Millers travel in search of 14th shut-out

Rotherham United head to Lincoln City on Saturday looking for their 14th clean sheet of the season.

The Millers travel to the Sincil Bank Stadium fresh from a creditable 0-0 draw at Wycombe on Monday and they know it will be another stern test to maintain their impressive defensive record.

Former Blade Geoff Horsfield has recovered from a hamstring injury for the Imps and could feature.

The 35-year-old has already netted since his arrival in January and will be looking to add to his tally.

Another Imp with Steel City connections is goalkeeper Rob Burch.

Burch made three appearances for Wednesday last season before being released by Brian Laws.

Lincoln's top scorer is 24-year-old Romanian striker Adrian Patulea. He has scored eight goals so far this season, including a brace as a substitute in the 5-1 thumping of Accrington Stanley in December.

Rotherham's defence is likely to be tested as there have been 14 goals in the last five meetings between the two clubs.

However, there is reason for optimism for Mark Robins' men.

When the teams met at Don Valley, on the opening day of the season, the Millers won 1-0 thanks to Reuben Reid's strike. The last time they travelled to Lincoln they came away 3-1 victors.

Rotherham, who sit 18th in the league, have actually gained more points than Lincoln, 47 to 41.

Without their 17-point deduction thhey would be in tenth - a place above the Imps.

But, the Millers now face a daunting fixture list due to the postponements at the beginning of the month.

Consistency, fitness and squad availability will now be the key.

Tomorrow is the first of 10 games in a month, including seven consecutive weeks of games Saturday and midweek.

The referee for the game will be Graham Salisbury of Lancashire.

Salisbury was in charge of the Millers tie against Bournemouth back in October and has dished out 60 yellow and four red cards in 25 games so far this season.
