Millers plan 'Alf' talks

ROTHERHAM United chief Ronnie Moore will speak to top scorer Adam Le Fondre today about his future at the club.

The highly-valued striker is wanting an extension to his current deal which has more than 18 months to run and is being tracked by several clubs.

Speaking after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury, Moore said: "I haven't spoken to him yet because I wanted to get the game out of the way first. I will talk to him on Monday to find out what his feelings are."

The defeat was the first in League Two for the Millers this season despite dominating the second half. Lionel Ainsworth struck the Shrews' early winner and they have now gone top.

Moore said: "We paid for five minutes of madness at the start. We conceded a sloppy but after that Andy Warrington didn't have too much to do.

"If we play like that week in week out we will not be far away."

The Millers host Burton Albion on Saturday.
