ROTHERHAM United have suffered another injury blow with defender Johnny Mullins out for six months.

He suffered a knee injury in training on Friday, described as “a bad one” by caretaker-manager Andy Liddell. “The knee cap came out and went back and I heard a crack” said Liddell. “He’s going to have an operation this week but the initial estimate is that he’ll be out for about six months. Hopefully, it won’t be that long because we have good rehab people here.”

This follows on goalkeeper Andy Warrington being ruled out for a spell after damaging a toe last week.

He missed the 1-1 draw at Cheltenham where Jamie Annerson came in and 17-years-old Youth team goalkeeper Jack Leyden was on the subs’ bench. Rotherham are at home to Hereford next Saturday knowing they need a win to keep in touch with the Play-off places. Saturday’s draw and other results mean the Millers, in 10th, are four points off the Play-offs.
