A FRUSTRATED Andy Scott praised his players for not crumbling late on at Accrington as they held on for a draw last night.

The Rotherham manager watched on as they conceded a disputed Sean Hessey goal eight minutes from time to cancel out Ryan Cresswell’s opener.

Scott, who is still searching for a new loan player to beef up his options on the left flank, said the free kick awarded in the build up to Hessey’s equaliser was “dubious”. Danny Schofield was harshly penalised on the edge of the area for handball and Hessey curled in the resulting set piece.

“It’s a debated goal they scored but we responded well to that,” he said. “We probably deserved to win. We could have buckled but we created some good chances after the decision. We were the better side and created the better chances against a good side. I thought we were excellent in difficult conditions. We have come out with a lot of credit today.”
