ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott hopes that the defensive qualities the side showed under severe pressure at Hereford can prove inspirational as they seek to improve that aspect of their play.

“We defended late on exactly how I expect my teams to defend,” said Scott.

“They were under a bombardment but people put their bodies on the line, got blocks in, made headers and that’s what we want to see game in, game out. It’s what helps gets results.

“They showed a lot of character in that second half and that can help us as we look to cut down on the number of goals we are conceding.”
