ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott admitted that his side’s League Two Play-off chances are over.

The 1-0 defeat by Gillingham was a sixth successive home game without a win, five of them without a goal and the third home defeat in the last four at Don Valley.

They are six points off the Play-offs with just two games left and Scott said, bluntly: “Realistically, it’s over.

“This was a must-win game and you can’t keep thinking that we’ve got a chance. Friday was a big chance at Northampton but we failed to close that game out and we couldn’t really afford to do anything other than win.

“We could not keep the momentum we had in the first hour and the fitness of the players is miles off what it should be. Over a season to get what you deserve and finish where you deserve to be. The results recently have not been good enough.”
