Matchwinning hero Tom Hitchcock says the Rotherham United players are “buzzing” waiting for the visit to Bramall Lane.
“It’s a big game, the lads are buzzing and they’re really up for it,” said Hitchcock whose three goals in the 4-3 win at Gillingham makes him the first Millers substitute ever to score a hat-trick.
“I’d love to think it might get me a start and I’ve never played there and would love to but it’s all about getting a result whoever plays.”
He said no one is thinking about the top two and acknowledges that Brentford are in pole position being six points ahead.
“We just go out trying to win games and get as many points as we can and let’s see what happens,” added the 23-year-old who is on loan from QPR.
“It’s been frustrating not being in the side and I was quite down a couple of weeks ago but the gaffer had a chat and pushed me on and I got a nice confidence boost with two goals for the reserves last week. I hope I get the chance to add to those at Gillingham.”
