ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans will not make his return to the touchline at the club’s next home game.
The fifth game of Evans’stadium ban was due to be served at Accrington Stanley last night but the game was called off half an hour before the start after extremely heavy rain left the pitch waterlogged in places.
It means Evans, serving a six-game stadium ban following an incident in a match between his then club, Crawley Town, and Bradford City in March, will now miss the game at York on Saturday and then the home game the following Saturday against Southend.
Referee Chris Sarginson said the pitch seemed okay an hour before kick-off but some of the worst rain he had ever seen then fell.
When he went out at 7.15pm, he realised conditions could be a potential danger to the players’ safety and, in consulation with both clubs, called the game off.
