ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans says that if the experience and atmosphere of the New York Stadium’s opening day is a sample of what’s to come, he just can’t wait for home games to come around.

He was overwhelmed with all aspects of Saturday’s opening day against Barnsley, describing it as “a fantastic day from the start to finish”.

“The whole experience was great and what an atmosphere it is in there, it sounded great,” said Evans whose side take on Doncaster Rovers tonight.

“It’s a special place and I am really looking forward to home games there and I’ll bet everyone else is too.”
