A TRIP to the beach was part of Rotherham United’s pre-match preparations as they bagged the win which helped them get back on track in their promotion bid at Torquay.

Manager Steve Evans said the squad went down to the beach, made some sandcastles and had some games. “They loved it, some of them were like kids again, it was a bit of bonding and great for team spirit,” said Evans.

“It was an important win. Claude Davis, Johnny Mullins and Andy Warrington were immense .

“You could not argue with the way we claimed the points in the second half.

“Our keeper hasn’t had anything to do until the penalty.”

Meanwhile the Millers are being linked again with Rochdale striker Ashley Grimes.
