A WEEK after being substituted at half-time because his manager was unhappy with him, Rotherham United striker Daniel Nardiello is back in the ‘good books’.

Top scorer Nardiello bagged his 14th goal of the season in the crucial win over fellow League Two promotion rivals Northampton Town.

He did so from the penalty spot after right back Mark Bradley (pictured) had been brought down by Ben Harding.

In addition to his goal, Nardiello was one of Rotherham’s top performers playing from a role on the left side.

After the previous week’s home defeat by bottom side Bristol Rovers, he had come in for criticism from manager Steve Evans and had been taken off with Evans explaining the front players hadn’t worked hard enough.

“He was back to how he can be which was good to see but I was proud of them all, they worked so hard,” said Evans.
