FA Cup victory for Rotherham United today could help loosen the purse-strings during the January transfer window.
The Millers play Notts County and a victory would likely bolster their ability to bring in fresh talent.
Manager Steve Evans said: “We are fortunate here that we have a chairman who will help us do that anyway. It is much easier as a manager to go and get a ‘yes’ when you have helped the club achieve cup wins which bring revenue in. If we are promoted at the end of the season, we don’t want another 15 to 20 changes.
“Every player we are signing we believe can make the step up and challenge in the league above.”
Chairman Tony Stewart will have a second meeting with Peterborough director Barry Fry next week to discuss a permanent deal for loan midfielder Lee Frecklington.
