ROTHERHAM United are pondering a further bid for goalscorer Matt Tubbs as manager Steve Evans prepares to smash the club’s transfer record.

They have had offers turned down for Tubbs - now at Bournemouth, who signed him from Crawley in January in a deal worth up to £800,000 - and AFC Wimbledon striker Jack Midson.

The bid for Tubbs would, says Evans, have broken “by some distance” Rotherham’s record fee paid of £150,000.

The Millers manager said both were “significant” six-figure sums.
