LATEST signing Michael O’Connor says it took him virtually no time at all to make up his mind to join Rotherham United.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who turned down a new deal at League One Scunthorpe United, became Rotherham’s sixth signing when agreeing a two-year contract this week.
“I spoke with the manager and had a look at the stadium and within a matter of minutes of considering everything I had made my mind up,” said O’Connor.
He also brushed aside any suggestion that it had been a tough decision to step down from League One, particularly for someone who had also been playing Championship football just over a year ago.
“It wasn’t tough at all because everyone I have spoken says this is a club that is going places and that’s the feeling I’ve got too,” said O’Connor.
“I am certainly looking forward to playing in the new stadium and I can see this club heading for The Championship eventually.”
Lewis Grabban has agreed a three-year contract with Bournemouth. The transfer fee is undisclosed but probably something around £250,000. He cost Rotherham nothing when joining from Brentford a year ago.
