ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans says that the close season signings will not be able to take a place in the side for granted.

“No one would argue that the team we have will grace League One,” said the Millers manager.

“Of course, we are looking to add to the squad but any player who comes in will really have to work hard to get in the side, there is nothing that can be taken for granted.”

He said they were seeking more stability next season... “and there will be,” he added.

“To introduce so many new players last Summer and throughout the season was always likely to bring with it an element of inconsistency but that will be less so next season with the bulk of the squad in place.”

Entrance to the Fans Forum at New York Stadium on Thursday, May 30 (7.30) is by ticket only. They are free and available at the ground.

The Millers are undertaking renovation work on the entire pitch at the New York Stadium. It remained in excellent condition but the work was always planned with the intention of an even better surface next season.

Ex-Millers player Nicky Law is leaving Motherwell and looks set to join Rangers in Division Two. He left Rotherham two years ago.
