Steve Evans says the winning culture which has developed at the club will help their promotion push.

“There is a winning mentality here, we saw that again on Saturday, and it is something which is going to drive this group of players on and will help us push to where we want to get,” said the Rotherham United manager.

“When their equaliser came, and we were effectively down to 10 men because of Mark Bradley’s injury, I’d have taken a point. But these players have a desire to win games, they went and won it and that’s five wins from the last six and we drew the other coming from behind.”

Evans says the excellent condition of the New York Stadium pitch is a bonus too.

“Tony Stewart deliberately invested heavily in it and it’s paying off,” said Evans. “Others are having games called off but this is in superb condition and ensures we play and don’t risk a fixture backlog.”
