Manager Steve Evans says he looks forward to his side putting an end to another long-running sequence when they face Shrewsbury Town at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

The Millers have not beaten the Shrews in any of the last ten meetings, all in recent seasons, with the last Rotherham win being a 2-0 success at Millmoor in November 2007.

“People were talking about us not beating Sheffield Wednesday at home for 37 years and we ended that run and if we’ve not had the better of Shrewsbury just recently then I’m sure all Millers followers will want us to do that this time and we’ll be striving to do so,” said Evans.

Last Saturday’s goalscorer David Worrall is under treatment after suffering a knock in the reserves goalless draw at Scunthorpe on Tuesday and which forced him to go off early on.

Tickets for next Wednesday’s Capital One Cup tie at Aston Villa go on general sale today. They go off sale next Tuesday (5pm) with none on sale on the day at Villa Park.
