STRIKER Matt Tubbs will remain on Rotherham United’s radar despite failing in another attempt to bring him north.
Bournemouth have rejected the Millers efforts to get the former Crawley man on loan.
Millers boss Steve Evans was manager at Crawley when he moved to the Cherries in a £800,000 deal last season and he remains a big admirer.
“They say he has a part to play down there,” said Evans who made an initial effort to sign Tubbs during the close season. “But we’ll continue to monitor the situation.
“We have interest in someone else and that’s at a level that would be a record fee for this club.”
However, nothing was imminent for the weekend.
Evans has no new injury worries for tomorrow’s home game with Bradford City which could be another sell-out. City have sold their 2,200-plus tickets and the remaining home tickets are selling quickly at New York Stadium.
