ROTHERHAM United suffered what manager Steve Evans described as “the hardest defeat all season” when going to down a last minute winner at Morecambe.

“We totally dominated, were not given a blatant penalty and I don’t know how we’ve not won that game,” said Evans. “It was really hard to take, the hardest defeat all season, because I thought we were brilliant and I can’t fault their effort.”

The Millers lost skipper Johnny Mullins to a red card for a professional foul which means he serves a one-game ban and misses tomorrow’s home game with Exeter City who are a place and a point below.

Defender Claude Davis (dead leg) and midfielder Lee Frecklington (virus) didn’t play and remain doubts for tomorrow with Evans suggesting they might well miss out.

Evans left out top scorer Daniel Nardiello and made four changes in all, including bringing in midweek reserve team hat-trick scorer Kieran Agard who played on the left with Lionel Ainsworth on the right.
