ICELANDIC international Kari Arnason bagged his first goal for Rotherham United as they drew 1-1 at high-flying Fleetwood Town tonight.
Rotherham, seeking a fourth win on the trot in League Two, went ahead after 19 minutes as Arnason fired home from just outside the penalty area after good play from Mark Bradley.
But the visitors joy was short-lived as Fleetwood equalised two minutes later courtesy of Jon Parkin, who converted Shaun Beeley’s delivery.
In an entertaining affair, former Barnsley forward Parkin shot just wide before Jamie Devitt, on loan from Hull City, drilled an effort off target at the other end.
Gareth Evans, brought on as a substitute at half-time for Arnason, saw his shot comfortably saved by Scott Davies as the Millers pressed for a second.
Five players went into the referee’s notebook, with the tackles flying in from both sides. Michael O’Connor, one of the players booked, drove wide from long range but the Millers couldn’t find a winner.
