ROTHERHAM United boss Ronnie Moore and his players were left raging over the last- minute “goal that never was” which saw them beaten 2-1 at Bradford City last night.
“The ball hit the bar and certainly didn’t look over the line and all my lads tell me it didn’t go in and I’ve had three of the Bradford boys tell me it wasn’t over the line,” said Moore.
“I felt sorry for the referee because he had to go with his linesman but everybody seemed to know that it never actually went in.”
Goalkeeper Andy Warrington led the vehement protests as his teammates joined in and television replays showed that the ball, struck from nearly 30 yards by substitute Tom Adeyemi, did not cross the line after bouncing down from the bar.
Marcus Marshall levelled for the Millers after they had fallen behind for the ninth successive away game. Moore opted to rest Adam Le Fondre and he said the striker took the decision well.
