It was a hugely encouraging display by Steve Evans’ men against an unbeaten side who had started the match in fifth place in the Championship.

Becchio, on as a sub for the injured Alex Revell, headed home right in front of a delirous North Stand in the 69th minute, seven minutes after Jordan Bowery had seen a goal ruled out for offside.

Charlton had taken the lead in the 27th minute through former Millers target Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s low 22-yard shot.
